Our World Tuesday ~ Let there be Lights!

My world is here in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma,
just outside of Tulsa.
This time of year, we Christmas light fans flock to
Rhema Bible College which is here in BA.
It's been drawing our attention since 1982 when
they started with only 60,000 lights.
Now more then two million lights decorate their campus.
Each year Rhema begins decorating
 sometime in the fall and
they turn the lights on Thanksgiving Eve.
 You can visit Santa,
have a carriage ride,
 grab some hot coco,
and stroll (or drive) around the campus,
until you are exhausted from all the
oohing and awing!
You should see these dazzling lights!
Our family enjoys it every year.
There is no charge, so that fits
every one's budget this time of year!
(Our family braved the cold.)
Sometimes we become part of the attraction
 by posing for family photos.
The grand kids really feel
the Christmas spirit here!
It's worth it to see and feel their excitement...
Join the fun at Our World Tuesday (here) ~

and tell us a little bit of the story about the place."

Memes ~ Leaf Tracings

I love seeing the surprise of  what the
 elements in nature can create.
While out running this week, I noticed
a gazillion dirt tracings of the autumn's fallen leaves.
They were only noticeable after the leaves had been picked up.
I'll be sharing my photos with these three groups ~
One called "Macro Monday 2" gallery (here).
And a Saturday photo gallery called "i heart macro" (here).
Plus I've submitted to a Tuesday gallery called
 "Our World Tuesday" (here),
which has a wonderful concept photos sharing "our world"!
Have a wonderful day...

My First 5K race at the Tulsa Run!

October 25th was unusually warm,
making the day perfect for my first 5K.
(Training for this run posted here.)
I'm so happy to check off my first 5K!
And I'm pleased with my results considering there were
more hills then I expected and the last K was all up hill!
The Final Stats reflected a typo
and I got moved down a position to 12th out of 40 in my Div. F60-64
...glad they found the error cause the other runner was
reported 12th and really 7th place.
The cutoff was 10th place to have your name in the Tulsa World.
Next year!
Except for forgetting to check my camera for the memory card,
this was a perfect day. (Thank goodness for cell phones!)
I don't always have my camera bag or purse with me
so this is a great idea ~
This is a SD memory card holder which could hold
a backup card and could easily attached to a key chain
or your camera strap (here 12/12/14 UPDATE
I learned this isn't made anymore for the size I use,
but there are other systems available just google).
Think I may give this a try!

Orange you glad it's Friday ~ Leaf!

"They" tell you to look ahead of you while running.
But when the wind is blowing and
threatening to snatch your ball cap,
what do you do?
Keep your head down
and low and behold,
you spot nature's wonders!
So fascinated, I had to return with my camera...
dirt tracings of autumn leaves scattered
on our neighborhood's sidewalks.
Maybe I won't be so eager to clean up our yard next year!
This is my shot for "Orange you glad it's Friday"
 (visit this great website here).
The moral of my post,
"enjoy the moment"...
and enjoy your weekend everyone!
Happy Click'n!

Thank you for your understanding!
