What's UP?

My husband and I are fully vaccinated.  Since the quarantine lifted, we had a few visits with our family and went to a few grandkid's sporting events and birthday parties.  No vacation trips yet.  My husband has unofficially announced a date for his retirement. So, things are slowly getting back to normal and our future is looking up.

I've continued to work on drawing.  I see some improvement, a little, not a whole lot.   Only one portrait, I would have to say is my favorite so far.  It's of my brother-in-law who we lost nearly a year ago to Covid19.  Philip.  He made us all laugh and was always nice to me when other's weren't particularly pleasant to be around.

My drawing is from a photo I took of him after he jumped off a pontoon boat into the lake so he could cool off.  How did his hat stay on, because I know he went under water?  We miss him very much!  A good man, husband, father and big brother (though not a blood brother) to my husband.

I really enjoy drawing human portraits but I branched out to animals.  One of our daughters is a Veterinarian and she requested a drawing for her office.  This was taken from a few photos I found online to come up with the theme of a good natured adult dog and his new kitten friend.

I've missed blogging. I've just not had a bunch of positive things to say or share.
I'm hoping that will change.
Enjoy your day!
