I Need a Road Trip!

Bryce Canyon has always been on the top of my bucket list.  A couple years ago we actually went to Utah and I took this shot during the beginning of the setting sun (to the left of where I was standing) one evening.  Where did my love of Bryce Canyon come from? I spent 13 years in a cubicle working away with only my landscape calendar to look out into the world.  It seemed like each year a different photo of  Bryce appeared at least once.  We plan to go back and see Utah once my hubby retires for some more photo ops, hiking and sightseeing.  I look forward to it!
Another scenic view is Maroon Bell in Colorado, it too was a regular location that would show up in those big beautiful calendars.  I took this shot one October when we took a foliage road trip.  Yep, I would go back there too.
I need a road trip, even for a day!
I need to do some research and grab my husband and GO!
There are scenic places here in Oklahoma.
Though, I'm also drawn to the odd and weird things.
Like, did you know Mr. Ed, the talking horse,
was buried in Hubbard, on the edge of town?
It wasn't easy to find. The headstone was laying down,
though I hear it is upright now.
I loved his show when I was a kid!
Enjoy your day!

  1. I might not should admit this, but I think I would still like Mr. Ed. I did not know he was buried there. And I would love just a day trip somewhere around here....

    1. Mr. Ed's trainer retired Ed and a man purchased him and brought Ed to Oklahoma. The new owner settled in Hubbard and let the local children ride Ed as the was led around the yard. I like this story because for my Generation Mr. Ed was such an Icon. Hope you get a day trip too! Enjoy your day!
