Crazy Tuesday ~ Bubbles

This was my first time to photograph bubbles.  While at Walmart I was able to find some children's bubbles with a wand.  Pretty inexpensive compared to the solution you can make at home with glycerin and clear liquid soap (1 to 4 solution) only 97 cents.  But if you have those ingredients anyway, go for it.
I used a metal jigger to pour the liquid in and then used a bendy straw to blow air into the solution. The bubbles will pop and will have to make bubbles several times, and with a regular straw you may get a mouthful of soap!  I shot this on a black background, and outside because I didn't like the reflections I was getting inside.

I tried to catch a popping bubble but I was just too slow.  I'll have to give that idea some thought and another try.  It's warmer here then last week otherwise these might have been frozen.  That is a thing.  And might add to the fun of photographing bubbles.
Enjoy your day!

  1. Frozen bubbles would definitely be easier C'nC, but then you wouldn't captured the gorgeous abstract you have here 😊

  2. I will have to try this, I haven’t in a while. I used to try and capture the bubble popping when my kids blew bubbles. In response to your question about the barns, they are just everywhere. If I run out of them around here I just take a drive and find hundreds more.

  3. I hope all is well in your world...been watching for a new post...

I have never tried photographing bubbles like this but have a few somewhere of kids making bubbles. Not near what you captured. I need to try your way.
