I love a savings!
My Sony a6400 camera is, cough, cough, now my favorite camera... There, I said it again. It was easier typing than when I told my husband this, I stuttered, swallowed nervously and forced myself to tell him. It was hard for me to admit it! The auto focusing system was ranked very high in all the reviews I read. And the AF system really wasn't on my list of requirements for my purchase. I had no clue how advanced the new cameras' AF systems are... My poor Canon 60D won't be put on the shelf collecting dust but will be my backup instead of my previous plan.
I've been rehearsing how to tell my husband I need to get a Sony Macro Lens. Partly trying to convince myself. I love Macro Photography, and thought I would use the new lens a lot. I have a Canon Macro Lens EF 100mm 1:2.8lIS USM and wanted something similar for my a6400.
I follow several photography FB pages and on the Sony a6400 Shooters page several posts have touted the Sigma MC 11 Adapter fitting the Sony cameras and the Canon lenses. I googled reviews and asked questions on FB (too lazy to go to our local camera shop) and liked what I was hearing! This adapter runs around $250 but I found a new one on Amazon for $190.
Yesterday, the Sigma MC arrived brightening my day... It was like an reward for handling the bad day calmly. (One of those Monday/Thursdays where everything you touch becomes more work then normal. Like knocking over a gas can, when in a hurry and backing out of the garage. It was full of gas mixed with oil and who knows what. Story short. I had a toxic mess to clean up once my errands were all done. )
I took some snap shots with my before mentioned Canon Macro, (which were not officially close ups ~ which follow.) On my Canon camera, I was not seeing the detail of these magazine pages with the same lens. (On the coffee table and I'm sitting on the sofa.)
The letters are so clear (third row up) on this keyboard.
And on this sign the number 16 is soooo sharp!
I am so excited to test it on my Macros and the next football game my nephew and grandson play. Sigma makes adapters that can be used with Nikon cameras besides making Sigma lenses, which are reported to be quite good and less expensive then Canon lenses. Definitely a WIN!
Happy Click'n!

ReplyDeleteI wish I had the money to get a new camera...well, I guess I do, but since I hardly ever get to take pics I almost feel like it would be a waste of money...
