Day 35 Update of COVID-19 Social Distancing

A couple weeks ago we had a bit of a scare at our house.  My hubby came down with symptoms of the virus.  Lucky for us I happen to have some masks and gloves tucked away in my workbench. So we suited up and contacted our physician.  Steve's test came back negative.  He had a bad case of bronchitis.  He thought he dodged a bullet this time and wants to continue working from home until "things" settle down.  Which is a good idea, we are seniors.
When working from home became manditory; we setup an area in our sunroom for his office, where he has a nice view of the golf course.  I would hate it. The temptation. I would break and run out that back door and be gone! At least in another time I would. While working from home in my PJ's has always sound great to me, I think I would prefer going into the office.  I like having the two different worlds of work and home. Steve is trying to do that on a smaller scale. After having breakfast at 7:30am, he marches into work, breaks at noon for lunch.  Then at 6pm he walks into the kitchen with "hi honey, I'm home".  We eat at the kitchen table, then go into the family room to watch TV and unwind.  So far it's working for him.  And me.  I like having him around.
I'm getting into the swing of our life as hermits.  There is plenty to keep me busy around the house, but do I really want to do those things? No.  This being a new week, I will start practicing self discipline and goal setting and reward myself with Cheetos daily at 4pm.  Unless my Katie finds the Cheetos first!
I hope everyone is well and adjusting to this new way of life and finding ways to stay in touch with family and friends.  We experienced the app House Party yesterday and played games  and visited with our families in another state. (It's like a video conference call if you didn't know about it already.)  I recommend it for staying in touch.
Enjoy the day!

  1. be glad your hubby has work at home, mine is on my last nerve. he has nothing to do and doesn't read or have any hobbies except going to the park and flying planes, he can't do that, all sports are canceled and that is what he did to fill his days.... your hubby has a great plan, he has a work day and a home time. plus a beautiful office
