Flickr's Crazy Tuesday - Gold or Silver

The other day I broke one of my pear tree ornaments
and the lucky side of that accident
was, it would cover the Crazy Tuesday theme of
gold or silver. The inside is silver but it doesn't look
much like that in this photo.
Probably because I shot this on a white background,
and I'm trying to learn how to keep that "white" in my photo.
It tends to be grayish in the digital reproduction.
I haven't quite mastered the settings to achieve white, so
I tweaked it a bit in processing which affected the silver lining.

Wishing everyone a great Tuesday! And hoping your day
will be more exciting then mine....
my day will be laundry and cleaning house.
Then I hope to locate the Christmas decorations from the attic
and you know, decorate.
That part should be fun!
Enjoy your day y'all!!!

  1. very sad the beautiful ornament is broken, glad it had some use. I like the photo. I don't know what software you use, but in PicMonkey and Photoshop, I use the dodge and burn tools a lot. the dodge whitens white and lightens silver.

    1. Thank you Sandra! I appreciate your suggestion and found dodge and burn in my Elements hidden in the sponge command and will play around with those. I really haven't used them before.

  2. It seems that photography is usually linked to post processing. I actually enjoy that part almost as much as the shooting.
