(Updated) Flickr's Macro Monday - Reflection

Reflection... is the theme for this week's Macro Monday (Nov. 14).  They left it pretty open, with the understanding it needs to be a Macro  and with a reflection in glass, metal, mirror, water and so forth.  Making it a time to be creative and experimental.

(Updated) Pomegranate photos color corrected, more gray then white. Improved but not quite there yet.
Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma
is the only known site  in the world where unique selenite crystals
with hourglass inclusions are found.

Another kind of reflection is thought, consideration  and contemplation.  We don't always have time to ponder in this busy world.  Growing up, I was a big thinker and I miss letting the mind wonder.  I remember trying to figure out why people do the things they do, how far is infinity, and is my cat really following me or just walking in the same direction (you never know about cats!).  I can remember sitting on the back steps with my arm around our dog and looking out into the clouds.  It was a very peaceful feeling.  Do kids even have moments like that now?
Oklahoma designated rose rock (barite rose - foreground)
as the official state rock in 1968.

I couldn't resist buying this pomegranate to shoot for this theme...
and of course eat later!
Before
After (color tent gone but not white)
I'm really happy with the light box I ended up purchasing at Amazon.com.
It has helped immensely with my lighting issues when shooting macros.
Before
After (still not white enough)
Now I'm not happy with the mirror I've been using.  The mirror
image or reflection isn't as clear as I thought.
And I should have tried harder to get the background to be white,
as it actually was white.  Hmmm...
Before
After (better but the background still not white)
Things just seem off today.
I haven't a clue which macro I might submit tomorrow.
Any input would be helpful.
But I do know what will be my snack today...
I'll give you one guess and it isn't the rocks! Ha-ha.

  1. all 3 of the pomegranate are beautiful, I think I might go with the first one, the section. but the seeds are wonderful to.... are you allowed to edit photos with software before admitted or do they have to be out of the camera. like making the white whiter with software.
