Abstract Photography 101
"Abstract photography is difficult to define. In general, abstraction occurs when a photographer captures a portion of a specific scene, isolating it from its contextual environment. By focusing in on something, whether it be color, shape, form, or texture, the artist is able to create a unique perception of familiar objects. This method of expressing ideas deviates from photography’s traditional realism and is intended to capture the viewer’s imagination." (Excerpt from an article on abstract photography, here. A great article explaining with examples.)
As I played around trying to create a photo for a particular theme "painted" on Flickr's Macro Monday, these photos evolved.
(Posted on Flickr's Abstract Photos and Art,
also Abstract Photos groups.)
Ending with a macro of the joint joining the metal scrapper to the wooden handle, this process defines what is stated explaining abstract photography. Maybe an accident, but a fun learning excercise never the less.
To be continued...
Enjoy your day!
