Flickr's Macro Monday ~ Junk

JUNK! We got lots of it around our house despite me trying to reorganize our house for the last few years. Finding something worth photographing can be tricky but I think I found enough oddities for this project... I'm posting this early to get some input on which photo I should submit.  I keep wavering, between two. I'm hoping for some comments to help me decide, thank you!
September 23rd's Theme Description for Junk is as follows:
"How many times have you heard the statement in your house/apartment that “we ought to clear out this cupboard it's full of obscure items and odds and ends that we don’t ever use and never seem to throw away just in case we need it”? The same can be said of boxes found in lofts (attics) and in my case the garage and garden shed. (In my wife’s case her tack room). Most of us will have a collection of these old or discarded articles that are considered useless or of little value stored somewhere which can be classed as junk."

I guess to complete this project it's best to focus where it says "old, discarded and considered useless or of little value". To me that means things that probably should have been thrown out to begin with, things I haven't a clue what they go to or what they were used for.  That's my kind of junk.  Once again, some of this junk came from the hubby's toolbox and garage cabinets, then other items came from around the house where I stash things.  Secrete places.  Places where I keep things from getting misplaced until I can't remember where that secrete place is! It happens all the time.
Update: 9/23 The above shot was submitted.
The arrangements below are first in black and white, then sepia (I don't think they will except this, but I liked this affect from processing), and finally in color.

We will be with the grand kids through the weekend and so I got this project done early.  I appreciate any input you might have for me to choose one of these shots for submittal.  I'm having trouble figuring this one out on my own.  Thanks again!  I'll update this post come Monday 23rd.
Enjoy your day!

    1. Great, I was leaning towards 1 and 3. thanks for your input. I described the 4th in the same way to my husband (lol) and asked what it was. It's to fix or splice water hose ends back together and probably was something left by Steve's dad because I've never seen one before.
