Watermarking a photo with your name

I wanted to be able to mark my photos occasionally when and if I felt the need.  I waisted a whole morning trying to figure out how to add an identification mark to a photo.  I can't even explain how I finally got it to work.  My name is at the bottom left corner of this photo of our granddaughter,  Princess Kinley (during one of her birthday parties a few years ago).  What I did to get this done was to find a free signature font I liked, downloaded it, went into my Adobe Elements 2018 and either made it a watermark or brush stroke or a layer. Yeah, I haven't a clue.  I watched too many YouTube videos and got so confused because not all of these methods were compatible with Elements.  I honestly tried all those techniques and I'm not sure which actually worked, if any or maybe it was a one time thing.  I just kept hitting keys till something favorable happened.  Anyway, I'll keep working on perfecting this so it doesn't take as long to add on a photo as it did to create it!  Maybe I'll even share the steps in a post, if and when I come up with some simple instructions.
Wish me luck figuring it out.
And enjoy your day!

  1. I will confess to using Picmonkey to watermark photos. Super easy

    1. I might have tried Picmonkey back when it was free. I like super easy! One reason I've not moved up to Adobe Lightroom has been the subscription fee. It's bad enough that Word has a yearly fee now. I liked it best when we would purchase a software and if we didn't want the upgrade, it didn't cause a problem down the road. Yes, I'm that old! (lol) Just something I wrestle with. Thanks for commenting!

  2. This looks good....I am still using Picasa...but I used to do watermarks in Elements 2 and Elements 5.

  3. Thanks for visiting today. Watermarking photos is so important especially if you're a photographer. There are so many unscrupulous people who steal images that aren't their own. I have mine as a brushstroke in Photoshop. I can change the color and size if need be. I'm here to help if you need any.

    1. Thank you, that is so kind! I went back into my Adobe Elements today and I see I had saved one of my attempts as a brush stroke after all. What a surprise! I'm not sure if I could create it again but I will try to learn how I did it. I'm just a photography hobbyist and I have had my photos taken on FB without credit and that bothers me a bit, but it's family or friends, so I let it go. I mainly thought, if I am proud of one of my photos I might want to watermark it especially if I want to submit it someplace. So glad you stopped by!
