10/7/19 Flickr Macro Monday ~ In a Row

"The object of this week's theme is to photograph items "in a row". In other words, three or more identical or similar items arranged in an as much as possible straight line."  Showing depth of field is suggested, and most of all "try to shoot original items" not the typical screws, gummy bears, marbles, m&ms, etc.  I can honestly say I've never shot a gummy bear, so that would be original for me.  NO gummies for me!  I played with the subjects you see in these photos.

These rock stacks make me think "Zen" but are actually mini replicas of what we saw in Hawaii, while on the Big Island.  The story for them was unclear at the time.  When last there I was still grieving the loss of my Dad and thought these stacks were in memory of loved ones.  So I built a small one in Dad's honor. (It was maybe 10 inches tall.)  The ones along the highway were up to my knees. Different sizes and shapes.  It still makes me think of the memory walls we see on the news after horrific shootings.  I think those memorials must of started after Princess Di's accident. WELL, to my chagrin, the Hawaiians do not like tourists building them.  Their view is that it is a "misguided practice akin to sacrilege, since the national park contains many sites considered sacred to Native Hawaiians."  My bad.  Somehow the word needs to get out to the mainlanders.  I do remember seeing signs and or pamphlets stating not to take any of the lava rocks.  I never put the two together.  The rocks were merely moved not packed up and taken home.  Like the American Indians, Hawaiians also see the Earth as very important in their culture.  I would gladly put the rocks back in their place but that would not erase what I did.  And if I ever get to go back, I have learned from my mistake!
I had a bad day yesterday and, bought a bouquet of brightly died zinnias to cheer me up.  AND photograph for this project.   The flowers were an impulse buy, but not the Dr. Pepper, a bag of potato chips or the Reese's peanut butter cups.  I felt a bit better after consuming my junk food.
The bright petals, inspired me to get out my brushes and paint a few strokes.  I should have painted yesterday instead of eating that junk.  It's so peaceful to watch the colors flow and I bet I burned a couple of calories!
Or maybe I should have played with some wire and beads before resorting to junk food.  It's hard to think straight when you're tired, hungry and frustrated with mankind.  There is a story there, but I'll bite my tongue so I won't get worked up again and eat something I shouldn't.  (Okay, I twisted my arm.  In one word, "incompetence". Today it seems like a bunch of unimportant stupid events which normally I would shrug it off! I just couldn't yesterday. )
I'm leaning towards the shot of the pink flower with three petals in a row.  Your comments are welcome and always appreciated!

PS  By the way, I ended up submitting Plan B to the Flicker Macro Monday "Knolling".  I should have listened to your comments! (See the past two posts.)
Enjoy your day!
