Flickr Macro Monday ~ Wire

It came down to the "wire" (ha-ha) on this Macro Monday theme.
(Copper wire, with plastic coating,)
It's not easy to strip the plastic off wire when you are a wimp!

This week's theme (due Monday, October 14) description for "wire" is as follows:   "Wire is metal in the form of a flexible thread or slender rod. This could be electrical wire, wire mesh/screen, fence wire, wire rope or the many other forms of wire we encounter daily. It is not the word "wire" written out, the TV show by that name, "wearing a wire", the finish line of a race, etc.  Important;  Metallic wire must be visible in your photograph."
(Carbon Steel/Stainless Wire Scratch Brush)
I found this steel wire brush hiding in a drawer and
thought it might make an interesting subject
especially if I wire wrapped a heart to catch the viewer's eye.

The shot below, reminds me of
a clown hat.  Which wasn't my intent.
(Wire filter tarnished steel, with steel wire heart)
I grabbed this spool of silver art wire hoping
to create some bokeh in the next shot. I got some
but not as much as I wanted. So much for that idea.
(Silver uncoated art wire.)
These are copper wires (below) that I torched to form a ball on the end,
then I enameled the balls.  The wires are used in wire wrapping
designs for jewelry.
I'm just a novice with the enameling, and hope
to get back at it this winter so I'll feel more comfortable
with my torch.
(Copper wire for jewelry making, 24 gauge, torched to form balls on end,
then balls are enameled. wire tarnished from heat and copper
color from that point on to end of wire.)

These are a pair of earrings I made using some of
the enameled wires I made.
I guess I could technically enter the following photo for Macro Monday.
The photo of the enameled wires will probably be the shot I submit.

Not for the recognition. But for the pure joy of creating something and sharing it.”

Enjoy your day!

    1. Thank you, Sandra! I appreciate your encouragement and kind words. The first shot is the only wire that I stripped, or actually my hubby stripped. The brush wires are steel no plastic coating, but they look like they have a black coating which is a common light dusty coating that can easily be rubbed away. Hopefully, the admin won't or wouldn't reject one of those photos. I think I will ask. Enjoy you day!
